- Title
XXX AND THE CHANGING BALLET AESTHETIC; 1828-32.
- Authors
Chapman, John
- Abstract
The article focuses on how ballet evolved during the 18th and 19th centuries where criticisms were rampant. Dance has improved from a dance that projected grace, elegance and nobility to those that stressed the meaning of art. However, critics still believed that dancing, even at its best, still possessed vagueness in meaning. Ballet was considered as more than dancing and choreographers believe that it can be a dramatic art. It is on this concept that the ballet d' action was developed.
