Reports that a federal court in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania has began hearings on whether intelligent design deserves an airing in high schools as a viable scientific theory. Suggestion that the theory seeks to bring creationism into the classroom; Right of a school district to require intelligent design to be mentioned in science classes; Assertion of Eugenie Scott, director of the National Center for Science Education, that the case is the most important legal situation for creation and evolution.
