- Abstract
The article reflects on the importance of establishing normal reference interval (RI) ranges in pediatric patients to medical decision making. It discusses the laboratory practices of transference and verification and cites examples of sources of residual healthy samples for use by laboratories for RI verification studies in pediatrics. It also proposes the Hoffman approach as an alternative method for establishing RIs.
