- Abstract
The article discusses the benefits of student involvement in the peer-review process for scientific journals to the fisheries profession and to students themselves. Peer review is defined as the process of certification of new science. It is noted that the primary duty of reviewers is to provide a critique that is positive, critical yet objective and balanced. Student involvement in the review process is said to help establish students as fisheries professionals and enables them to offer contribution to science.
