- Abstract
The article discusses a study of the autophagy process. Autophagy involves a process in which cells dispose of unwanted cytosolic components of microorganisms. The conjugation of the autophagy marker LC3 to the lipid phosphatidylethanolamine-forming LC3 aggregates on autophagic membranes, and is a key step in this process. The study showed that toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling may enhance phagosome maturation and pathogen defense by getting help from components of the autophagy pathway.
