- Title
THE BENDER GESTALT TEST AS AN INEFFECTIVE PREDICTOR OF READING ACHIEVEMENT.
- Authors

- Abstract
The article highlights on the Bender Gestalt Test (BGT) as an ineffective predictor of reading achievement. Group Bender Gestalt Tests administered during kindergarten and first grade were scored according to the Koppitz developmental scale, and related to second grade reading performance. Although interrater reliability was satisfactory, correlations between BGT scores and reading achievement were nonsignificant. The results caution against attributing too much causal significance and too much diagnostic importance to perceptual motor factors in reading.
