- Abstract
The article discusses a book titled "Writer-reader Interaction by Meta Discourse Features: English-Persian Translation in Legal and Political Texts" by Mehrdad Vasheghani Farahani. The book compares the translation of metadiscourse features in legal and political texts from English to Persian, emphasizing the importance of clear communication and understanding in preventing misunderstandings. It provides a systematic structure and data analysis, revealing that the Persian translation corpus contains fewer meta-discourse features compared to the English corpus. The author argues that the frequency of using interactive meta-discourse features in a translation affects how effectively the message is conveyed to the reader, and explores the cultural and linguistic implications of meta-discourse in translation. However, the book's focus on legal and political texts could benefit from a broader scope.
