- Title
The Case for High-Dose Dexamethasone Suppression Testing Preoperatively in Aldosterone-Producing Adenoma to Exclude Cosecretion of Cortisol.
- Authors
Gordon, Richard D.
- Abstract
In this article the author comments on a study related to the case for high-dose dexamethasone suppression testing in aldosterone-producing adenoma. He cites several issues raised by the case report such as the cosecretion of cortisol, the performance of unilateral adrenalectomy and the recovery of the contralateral adrenal from long-term pituitary-adrenal suppression. He asserts that adenomas secreting cortisol in a familial setting are not rare.
