- Abstract
Background. An important problem of modern science in Uzbekistan is the integration of science and industry. In the field of chemical science, the creation of new pharmacologically active compounds is becoming urgent in order to ensure in the internal market in the future plan original medicines of domestic production. Another direction is the introduction of existing drugs in domestic production, the socalled generics. In addition, improving the quality and purity of these drugs is gradually moving into the foreground. The obtaining of more exact characteristics of already known substances has its rightful place. Purpose. The purpose of the current investigation was study of spatial structure of drug etodolac with improved X-ray structural characteristics. Methodology. X-ray structural data were obtained at 293 K on an Xcalibur R Oxford Diffraction automated diffractometer (Cu Ka radiation, k = 1.54184 Å, ω-scan mode, graphite monochromator). It was done comparative analysis obtained and previously published data. Originality. Although other authors previously published the structural characteristics of etodolac, we were able to obtain more accurate data on its spatial structure. At the same time, a twofold increase in the R-factor was achieved. Findings. At the same time, the accuracy of determining the spatial locations of all atoms inside the crystal lattice, torsion angles, interatomic distances, etc. have been almost doubled.
