- Abstract
The article presents an overview of Christianity in China, as of January 2010. It is noted that the country's Communist rulers have reduced the severity of their policy of persecuting Christians, even allowing numerous house-churches to exist discreetly unmolested. The question of whether the revival of Christianity in China will lead to greater political liberalization there is addressed. It is noted that many Chinese Christians seem apathetic about politics, but this could stem from a prudent desire to avoid persecution rather than a genuine lack of interest.
