- Abstract
The article discusses a hypothetical religious dialogue between religious poet Kabir and religious personage Gorakh, who lived in India. Gorakh asked questions regarding who is guru and who is disciple. According to Kabir, the sacred sound is the guru and Surati is the disciple. Listening to the words of a guru, a disciple can enjoy the eternal religion. Gorakh also inquired about the concept of emptiness. To which, Kabir said that the Earth is the emptiness. The sky is also empty. The emptiness is the dwelling of the five elements of the world, including the earth, water and fire. Gorakh asked Kabir about his tilak and its shade and what is his caste and his dwelling. Kabir replied that the truth is his tilak and the true name is its shade. Vaishnava is his caste and the kingdom of emptiness is his dwelling. Gorakh asked whether Kabir is a Brahmin or a brahmachari and whether he is a yogi or a disciple. Kabir replied that he is Brahmin as well as a brahmachari and he is also a yogi and a disciple. Gorakh asked Kabir about which Purush is he devotee of. Kabir replied that he is a devotee of the true Purush.
