- Abstract
Objective: To perform an integrative research on the role of the nurse in the promotion of sexual and reproductive health directed to microcephaly caused by the Zika virus. Method: The present study consists of an integrative research in the databases VHL, VHL (MS), LILACS and SCIELO. Results: The Zika virus is an infection that can generate a symptomatologic picture in the whole individual and in the cases of pregnant women in the initial phase can develop neurological alterations in the concept. Discussion: There is a clear need to strengthen antiviral actions to reduce cases of Zika virus infections and the implementation of concrete actions at all levels of health. Conclusion: In the case of microcephaly possibly associated to the Zika virus, it is important to highlight the contribution of nursing care in primary care minimizing the risks and epidemiological surveillance in the assistance provided to the Information System for live births.
