- Abstract
The article discusses evidences involving the response of periodontal disease to immune-cell-mediated bone reabsorption. Evidence suggests that the B and T cells are responsible in producing an osteoclast differentiation factor which resulted to bone resorption. It also discusses various findings of possible involvement of T cells in periodontal bone loss.
