- Authors

- Abstract
This article discusses the controversial role of Henry Kissinger, former U.S. Secretary of State and National Security Advisor, in the independence of Bangladesh. Kissinger's support of the Pakistani regime's genocidal campaign and his dismissive attitude towards an independent Bangladesh have sparked debate over his legacy. The article explores Kissinger's adherence to realpolitik, which prioritizes practicality over moral considerations, and his defense of U.S. national interests. Despite his controversial actions, the rise of Bangladesh as a significant regional player demonstrates the resilience of a nation that Kissinger once underestimated.
