- Title
A Combination of Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry for Peptidomic Research.
- Authors
Clynen, EIke; Schoofs, Liliane
- Abstract
This article reports on a combination of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry for the purpose of peptidomic research. The article author illustrates that the combination of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry,on- or off-line, represents a powerful tool for peptideresearch. In organisms with genome information, bioinformatical tools allow the very fast identification of peptides. When no or little sequence information is available, a combination of traditional techniques, Edman sequencing, and more recent developed methods, mass spectrometrical sequencing, offers the possibility to fully identify peptides within a reasonable period of time.
