- Abstract
Anna Antoniazzo Bocchina had a flexible personality, but she is not so popular. She was born in Fiume in 1907. She studied at the Art Academy of Venice and she gradueded with Virgilio Guidi in 1930. Then she joined the "fiuman gruppo d'Avanguardie" led by Francesco Drenig. Since 1946 she moved to Venice for the exodus and she worked hard in the study and conservation of her native land' works. In fact she became a member of the UNESCO for the protection of cultural monuments. With her strong dedication during the time the "Cimitero di Cosala" will be declared a national monument in 2001 and saved from oblivion. With this contribute her personality as artist and art historian will be analyzed in connection to Fiume history trough the analysis of her publication with the support of critical studies and unpublished documents.
