Lopardo, L. (2005). Phylogenetic revision of the spider genusNegayan(Araneae, Anyphaenidae, Amaurobioidinae).— Zoologica Scripta,**, ***–***.A taxonomic revision and phylogenetic analysis of the spider genusNegayanRamírez, 2003 (Anyphaenidae, Amaurobioidinae, Amaurobioidini) is presented. All 12 known species ofNegayanplus representatives of each of the other nine amaurobioidini genera (25 taxa in total) were scored for 134 morphological characters. The cladistic analysis of this matrix results in a single most parsimonious tree (LE = 382; CI = 0.42; CI for informative characters = 0.36; RI = 0.49). The monophyly ofNegayanis corroborated, although with low support values. My results correspond to those of a previous study, withN. paduanaas the basal species of the genus andSelknamiaas the sister-group ofNegayan.Negayanis diagnosed by the genitalic morphology in both sexes. Males ofNegayanhave a characteristic retrolateral tibial apophysis on palps that is long, thick and sinuous at the tip. Females ofNegayanhave a characteristic genitalic pattern with coiled copulatory ducts and contiguous spermathecae. New diagnostic characters are proposed. The genusNegayancomprises 12 species, four of them known only from females. It is known from Argentina, Chile and Peru. Eight new species are described here:N. punosp. nov.,N. cerronegrosp. nov.,N. tatasp. nov.,N. anchasp. nov.,N. enrolladasp. nov.,N. tucumansp. nov.,N. tarapacasp. nov., andN. argentinasp. nov. New morphological data are added to the descriptions ofN. tridentata(Simon),N. paduana(Karsch) andN. coccinea(Mello-Leitão). The male ofN. excepta(Tullgren) is described for the first time and the female is redescribed.Negayan tridentatais a senior synonym ofGayenna exigua(Mello-Leitão); andN. paduanais a senior synonym ofTomopisthes lebruni(Simon).
