- Abstract
The article discusses the introduction of a new manuscript category called "Mini Reviews" in the journals Molecular Ecology (MEC) and Molecular Ecology Resources (MER). These mini reviews are concise summaries of recent insights or advances in research areas applicable to molecular ecology. They can cover a range of topics, including new research areas, niche topics, best practices for techniques or analysis, emerging techniques, novel insights or perspectives, connections between previously addressed topics, and the development of novel hypotheses. Mini Reviews are limited to 3000 words with a maximum of two figures or tables. The authors encourage interested authors to contact the Editorial Office prior to submission and aim for short turnaround times in assessing and reviewing these papers.
