A literary criticism is presented of the early 19th century North American fictional books "Wacousta: Or, the Prophecy: A Tale of the Canadas," by John Richardson and "The Pioneers," by James Fenimore Cooper. Particular focus is given to the books' depiction of Creoles in North American colonial frontiers.
