- Authors
WILLIAMSON, CORBIN
- Abstract
The article discusses the role that the 1941 U.S. Lend-Lease Act played in U.S. assistance and repair of British Royal Navy warships at American shipyards in 1941, including the U.S. Navy's willingness to divert resources towards the repair of British warships. An overview of the impact that Great Britain's participation in World War II had on its inability to provide maintenance and repair to its own warships, including in regard to the impact of German bombing of British warship and merchant ships, is provided.
