- Abstract
IL-1 is one of the signalling cytokines altered in HS and there is growing evidence that anti-IL-1 agents may be useful in this disease.[3] To the best of our knowledge, the onset of HS during the treatment of MKD with anti-IL-1 agents has not been reported to date. Dear Editor, Paradoxical adverse events (PAEs), defined as the occurrence or worsening of a pathological condition that usually responds to the administered drug class,[1] are increasingly being reported in relation to biologic treatment because of the expanding use of these agents.
