- Title
Finances of Employee Benefits: Health Costs Drive Changing Trends.
- Abstract
The article relates that rising health costs are approaching retirement costs, according to an article which appeared in the December 2005 issue of "EBRI Notes." Since the late 1980s, the percentage allocated for voluntary retirement benefits has declined, while the amount for employer-sponsored voluntary health benefits has grown. Compared with retirement benefits and other employee benefits, the percentage allotted for health care has risen from 8.8% in 1950 to 43.2% in 2004.
