- Abstract
The article focuses on the discovery of the Piaractus brachypomus red-bellied pacu fish at the Vembanad Lake in India. It cites the need to develop solutions to prevent the spread of the fish species in natural waters. It says that the fish has the capability to thrive in several aquatic environments. It adds that the species possess a strong dentition that could harm humans and other aquatic animals and was viewed to cause economical damage to local fishers.
