- Abstract
The article focuses on the detection and quantitation of Bacteroides gingivalis in bacterial mixtures by means of flow cytometry. Flow cytometry have been used routinely for several years to analyze and sort lymphocytes and other eukaryotic cell populations on the basis of either light scattering or fluorescence. The technique holds great promise for monitoring a few species in large scale studies and for evaluating the efficiency of different cultural techniques for the viable recovery of certain bacteria.
