- Title
MONEY AND THE RULE OF LAW: GENERALITY AND PREDICTABILITY IN MONETARY INSTITUTIONS.
- Abstract
Particular attention is given to the failings of the Federal Reserve, but other central banks do not escape. At the end of the 1980s New Zealand's government implemented some major economic reforms, including the Reserve Bank Act of 1989, the first such Act in the world to give a central bank an inflation target. The authors of this fascinating book argue that the rule of law should constrain the conduct of monetary policy.
