- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the effects of sericin on diabetic peripheral neuropathy in streptozotocin- induced type 2 diabetes rat model, and on sciatic nerve and related nerve cells. The study uses the glucose oxidase method. The study shows that levels of blood glucose declined while the neuropeptide Y expression in anterior horn cells and spinal ganglion increased after 35 days of intragastrical perfusion of sericin.
