- Abstract
The article gives an overview of the geological history of Egypt in relation to the country's ancient civilisation. It notes that the country's landscape is the product of a long and tormented geological evolution, which reaches back almost to the origins of the planet. Geological evolution noted that it is the cause of the Egyptian civilisation, from the gold that was mined in the Eastern Desert, to the Aswan granites and the Tura limestones used in the pharaonic building works. These aspects contributed to the development of ancient cliffs of the Eonile that form both the steep edge of the Giza Plateau.
