- Abstract
The author comments on the Surviving Sepsis Campaign (SSC) international guidelines for severe sepsis and septic shock management. An evaluation on the selective digestive tract decontamination (SDD) recommendations in intensive care medicine is presented. The author concludes that the use of SSD on the SSC guidelines should have been implemented, alongside the use of the GRADE system in classifying the strength of the recommendations.
