- Abstract
This article discusses the Spanish administration of the colonies in the Americas during the early 18th century. The author comments on the information gathered by Francisco de Seyxas y Lobera, a Galician explorer who presented his findings on the activities of the Spanish monarchy in the region to the French court in 1702. The role of the ministry of foreign relations under Louis XIV is also examined.
