- Authors

- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the changes in neuroactive steroid concentrations after preterm birth in neonatal guinea pigs, and to assess the potential for postnatal progesterone replacement therapy. It mentions the cesarean delivery and tissue collection in 24 hours followed by progesterone and allopregnanolone measurement by immunoassay. The study found reduction in allopregnanolone which concluded a loss of neuroactive steroid concentrations after delivery.
