- Abstract
The article reports on research which was conducted to investigate the association between leukocyte telomere length and vascular dementia and cancer mortality in an elderly population. Researchers evaluated patients aged 75 and older who were recruited from a memory clinic in Australia. They found that shorter telomere length at the time of cancer diagniosis may be a predictor of mortality from cancer but concluded that additional research was needed to confirm their results.
