- Title
Walter Benjamin's "The Task of the Translator": Theory after the End of Theory.
- Authors
Kohlross, Christian
- Abstract
The article examines literary theory in the essay "The Task of the Translator," written by Walter Benjamin. Benjamin's doctrine of translation is described to have no focus on communication but rather on supplementing language. It was also evident that Benjamin's text allows one to think of the work of art as being composed in an original language and also allows one to think of the work of art's theory as being composed in a secondary language.
