Wedgetail. Another saga of naïve contracting?
- Authors
Haddock, Frederick
- Abstract
The article examines the progress and development of the Project Wedgetail as part of Australia's 737 Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) program in assembling aircrafts. It mentions that Boeing Defence Australia has played a key responsibility in all phases of the project implementation including initial design, training, infrastructure development, and logistics support since the project started in 1996. On November 2009, Boeing Co. announced that it has successfully finished tests of the Counter Measures Dispenser System (CMDS) for Project Wedgetail. It notes that the completion of the Wedgetail project required various facilities that are needed to provide crew training, mission analysis, and system evolution.
