- Abstract
The article discusses research in which an accelerator mass spectrometer (AMS) was used in radiocarbon dating of charcoal samples from Rakhigarhi site in Haryana, India. Topics covered include the samples being subjected to graphitization via controlled burning, the use of oxalic acid II (OX II) as primary standard for the charcoal samples, and the determination of statistical error through the use of the Poissonian statistics as square root of the total C atoms observed.
