- Title
Stem cells: Optimal stoichiometry for pluripotency.
- Authors
Baker, Monya
- Abstract
The article offers information on a study related to stem cells conducted by Rudolf Jaenisch and collaborators. It was found that supplying the important ingredients in the right amount makes a huge difference for creating mouse induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells that behave like embryonic stem (ES) cells. Jaenisch and one of his former student made two mouse strains by applying the same four factors on a single genetic construct inserted into the same spot on the mouse genome.
