- Title
Fiddle Records in Canada.
- Authors
Green, Richard
- Abstract
The article looks at the history of fiddle records in Canada. It notes that changes in musical tastes and business practices led to an end of corporate interest in fiddle music and recordings by fiddlers like Andy Dejarlis, Don Messer and Ward Allen. It cites some smaller commercial distributors that filled the gap such as Holborne Records, Boot Records and Arc Sound. Other sources include fiddlers such as Hicks Family and Ed Gyurki with their own recordings, the University College of Cape Breton, Canada and Festival Records.
