- Abstract
PLOS Pathogens is a community-driven journal that focuses on microbes and is committed to adapting and evolving to meet the demands of its community. The journal has revised its scope statement to include outstanding fundamental discovery, translational, or applied research on all pathogens and life forms. PLOS Pathogens aims to go beyond the laboratory by empowering scientists and the public with an open science communication platform. The journal's editors reaffirm their responsibility to support research excellence and welcome studies that provide significant advances in understanding microbe biology and pathogenesis.
