The article presents a biography for William Henry Over, who oversaw the University of South Dakota's university museum in Vermillion, South Dakota. Over had little formal education and did not complete the eighth grade, but he was interested in fossils and archaeology. He worked as a storekeeper, but would also go fossil hunting. He was selected to oversee the museum in 1913 and he greatly enlarged its collection to over 30,000 items.
