The article discusses the construction of public memory related to Canada's involvement in the D-Day Invasion on Juno Beach in Normandy, France, in 1944. According to the article, the process began during the 40th anniversary ceremonies at Pointe du Hoc in Normandy in 1984. It mentions the museum Le Memorial's (Caen, France) plans to create a Canadian Memorial Garden and the involvement of the Canadian Battle of Normandy Foundation founded by Hamilton Southam. The Juno Beach Centre built in Normandy and inaugurated in 2003, a project initiated by D-Day veteran Garth Webb, is also discussed.
