- Authors

- Abstract
Malaysian theatre, as a gauge of social, cultural and political advances in the country, expresses both the hopes and constraints present in this complex multiethnic/multilingualsociety. Kee Thuan Chye, a Malaysian ournalist and playwright of Chinese descent, represents a notably articulate voice for democratic principles that support an inclusive and progressive national purpose. Avoiding the didactic, Kee creates strikingly novel and entertaining theatre pieces which merit the attention of both local and international audiences.
