- Abstract
The article discusses a research on how Helicobacter pylori moves in gastric mucus. It references the study by J. P. Celli and colleagues in the August 11, 2009 issue of "Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA." It states that H. pylori can swim in porcine gastric mucin (PGM) solution. It notes that the researchers find out that once the urea was hydrolysed, the pH level increased from acidic to neutral, the PGM turns from gel to solution and the movement of the H. pylori increases.
