- Abstract
The article discusses the reintegration of patients with chronic diseases into their workplace after an episode of illness. The author reviews various important theories involved in returning to work and also gives the evidence for the effectiveness of health interventions that improved a patient's functioning at workplace. The article also discusses the World Health Organization model of functioning, disability, and health to understand the problem of return to work.
