- Abstract
This article presents information on Joseph Schumpeter, one of the great economists of all time. It is informed that Schumpeter was one of the great economists of all time. It is opined that he was much more than an economist as on his achievements in the economic field itself. He himself used to say that an economist who is not also a mathematician, a statistician, and most of all a historian is not properly qualified for his profession. All his life he was deeply interested in the theory of social relations and social philosophy and made important contributions to sociology and to social and political philosophy. Schumpeter was not only a great scholar and original thinker, but he was also a strong, colorful, and exceedingly complex personality. A quite unusual capacity for understanding the minds and views of others, a strong touch of irony, which, at times, seemed to verge on cynicism, and a wonderful sense of humor were combined with deep moral convictions, absolute devotion to his friends, and intense likes and aversions. But his dislike of certain kinds of people was controlled by his kindheartedness and generosity.
