- Abstract
The article provides an analysis of nonbeing in the thought of philosopher Paul Tillich and the Daoist thinker Zhuangzi and Tillich's dialectical use of nonbeing and being. Topics discussed include Tillich's revision of the traditional doctrine of creation ex nihilo, the impact of nonbeing on human beings' ability to think the question of being and comparison of the Western philosophical theology, and the holistic cosmology of Daoism.
