- Title
Higher inflation and monetary policy tightening in East Asia.
- Abstract
The article discusses inflation and monetary policy in the economies in East Asia. It is stated that higher inflation and monetary policy is tightening the economies of China, South Korea, Taiwan and Australia. According to the study, output rose briskly across most of the major East Asian economies in the second quarter of this year, although the Japanese economy decelerated. It is again stated that following several years of low and relatively stable inflation in the region, consumer price growth accelerated markedly over the summer in many East Asian countries. Several charts and tables related to the study are also cited.
