The article discusses a study which investigated the hypothesis that pretransplant antifibrotic therapy is associated with a lower incidence of primary graft dysfunction (PGD). Topics include the use of antifibrotic therapy in the management of interstitial lung disease (ILD), finding on an animal model of ischemia-reperfusion lung injury, and definition of chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD).
