- Abstract
Introduction: Assessment of delivered service in health care institutions and patient satisfaction as an indicator of quality are important. Objective: This study aimed at analyzing satisfaction of outpatients who got healthcare service in a military hospital. Methods: This research was conducted in Gulhane Military Medical Academy, the tertiary level of medical center of Turkish Armed Forces in Turkey. 1000 outpatients who got healthcare service during 2015 were included in this study. Questionnaire form was used as a data collection tool. Results: Of participants, 53.7% were male, 36% were 41 years old or older, 67.7% were married, 45.8% had bachelor or master degree, 56.4% were employed with social security insurance, 42.1% were civil servant and 70.5% applied to this hospital before. Discussion: As a result of this study, it was found that outpatient satisfaction level was good and it varied in term of age and social security status. Health care managers and professionals attach importance to subjects which improve patient satisfactions, such as communication, hygiene, waiting time, privacy is crucial.
