- Abstract
INTRODUCTION One of the main missions of the Bulgarian Armed Forces is to support the national and regional security in peace time. In accordance with the Law for Defence and Armed Forces and the Bulgarian Armed Forces Doctrine the operations for disaster consequences management and eradication are part of this mission. Military medical teams are educated, trained and equipped for conducting disaster medical support operation alone or in cooperation and coordination with civilian medical authorities Governmental or Non-Governmental National and or International Organizations. THE AIM of this study is to present the military medical capabilities benefi cial for civil military interaction. MATERIALS AND METHODS By the means of the descriptive method the military medicine capabilities - Doctrine, Standard Operating Procedures, and Algorithms are listed. Comparative method and cluster analyses are implemented in order to present the benefi ts of the established military medical organization, structure, training and SOPs in cases when civilian healthcare system capacities are questioned. Based on the analyses' results the military medical practice signifi cance in civil-military interaction, in humanitarian and disaster relief operations in particular, is noted
