- Abstract
This article presents a study done by the Libraries Copyright Task Force (LCTF) at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado regarding copyright laws and the role that university libraries should play in assisting with questions regarding those laws. It focuses on pressure for academic librarians to become copyright leaders and the need for communication among university departments so that information is uniformly given. Topics include assessing information provided by other academic libraries, guides created for students regarding plagiarism, and the government's attempts to legally keep up with evolving digital technology and social networking.
