- Title
Why are the classification and diagnosis of axial spondyloarthritis sometimes so difficult?
- Authors
Braun, Jürgen
- Abstract
The author describes the case of a 42-year-old female patient who had been diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis because she presented with chronic back pain, more in the lower spine, likely of the inflammatory type (IBP). He discusses the prevalence of items of potential relevance for a diagnosis of axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA), how mild disease would look like, and prediction of disease progression.
